Recently, as the last set of equipment was installed and debugged, all 650 sets of BeiDou-based information management terminal equipment in Suqian City, Jiangsu, were put into use, and the "Suqian City Straw Mechanized Return-to-Field Operation Information Management System" and the "Return-to-Field Assistant" mobile APP entered the stage of large-scale pilot operation. This is a new "Internet" agricultural machinery operation management model that Suqian City took the lead in implementing across Jiangsu Province, effectively solving the difficulties in statistics on the area of straw mechanized return-to-field and verification of operation quality.

Internet plus agricultural machinery means using a satellite navigation system to unify agricultural machinery scattered in various places into a single network system, allowing unified scheduling and coordinated management. In recent years, the development of the Internet has rapidly penetrated into the fields of agriculture and agricultural machinery.

The "Suqian City Straw Mechanized Return-to-Field Operation Information Management System" is an information management application for straw mechanized return-to-field operations based on BeiDou, carried out through technical cooperation between the Suqian City Agricultural Machinery Bureau, the Jiangsu BeiDou Satellite Application Industry Research Institute, and China Mobile Jiangsu Company Suqian Branch. It integrates technologies such as BeiDou satellite high-precision positioning, the Internet, and information fusion and data processing, and is among the first such applications in China.

It is understood that the management system can collect and process the status data of machinery during operations in real time, obtain high-definition images of the operation site in real time, and provide agricultural machinery management departments, agricultural machinery cooperatives and others with services such as automatic statistics of operation area, real-time monitoring of agricultural machinery, operation quality review, and agricultural machinery scheduling guidance. At the same time, a tailor-made "Return-to-Field Assistant" mobile APP has been developed to provide services in sync with the management system. Agricultural machinery management departments, cooperatives, machinery operators and others can easily meet different management needs through a computer or mobile phone. After testing, the system's field identification rate reached 100%, and the average error in field area measurement was 3.14%; the larger the plot, the higher the precision. Compared with manual verification, verification through the management system is simple, convenient, fast and efficient, saving a large amount of manpower and material costs, and improving the real-time nature, accuracy, comprehensiveness and work efficiency of area statistics.

According to reports, Suqian City actively sought financial support to advance the pilot work, installing BeiDou satellite navigation and positioning terminals and high-definition cameras and other information management terminal equipment on 450 agricultural machines in 12 townships in Suyu District, Sucheng District and Hubin New Area. Sihong County also installed 200 sets of terminal equipment in townships such as Qingyang Town, and the city's information management of straw mechanized return-to-field operations officially entered the stage of large-scale pilot operation. By November 4, the area of straw mechanized return-to-field operations monitored in the autumn by the pilot machinery had reached 113,400 mu.

Industry insiders believe that Suqian City's pilot research on BeiDou-based information management of straw mechanized return-to-field operations actively explores the application of high-precision navigation and positioning technology in agricultural production, promotes the integration of agricultural machinery management and Internet technology, effectively solves new problems encountered in agricultural machinery operation management, achieves high efficiency and low cost in the management of straw mechanized return-to-field operations, and improves the informatization and refinement level of agricultural machinery operation management.
