Duck eggs become the "golden eggs" of prosperity

Recently, the reporter came to Liangfengya Village, Chicheng Town. Looking out, the distant hills were layered in green, saplings stood in rows, wildflowers bloomed freely - what a pastoral scene, and the fresh air made one linger.

Walking into the laying duck farm in Liangfengya Village, we met the owners of the farm - the Zhang brothers. They are not tall, slightly plump, and shy in speech. Seeing the reporter, the elder brother Zhang Lin poured out all the experiences of these years. It turned out that the two Zhang brothers were from Liangfengya Village, Chicheng Town, and had always worked away from home, doing small businesses for many years. By chance, Zhang Lin learned about raising laying ducks, and after hearing a friend's introduction he began to have the idea of farming them. So Zhang Lin went to a large-scale laying duck breeding base in Lianyungang, Qingdao, to learn breeding techniques. Thanks to his diligent study and hard work, after more than 2 months of learning he had fully mastered the techniques of laying duck farming and the market for development.

During the 2015 Spring Festival, after the two Zhang brothers returned home to visit their relatives, they decided to develop laying duck farming in their hometown, Liangfengya Village. Renting land, building sheds, buying ducklings... In May this year, the three Zhang brothers pooled more than 800,000 yuan to establish the laying duck farm, formally embarking on their own path of returning home to start a business.

"The duck breed we raise is the Shandong Jinding shelduck, which has a high survival rate, and what we bought were adult ducks, so they could lay eggs that same year." Speaking of the economic benefits, Zhang Lin was beaming. He said that the 6,000 ducks raised this year had already begun laying eggs in August.

Zhang Lin told the reporter that these ducks begin laying eggs in the early morning and continue until dawn. Every morning at six or seven, the two brothers and the workers begin collecting the duck eggs. Thanks to proper management, they now have a stable customer base, and sales are rising steadily.

The reporter learned that the laying ducks on the farm currently produce 5,000-6,000 duck eggs every day, with an egg-laying rate as high as over 95%. One duck egg sells for 8 jiao, and because the shelducks raised by Zhang Lin are ecological and environmentally friendly, market demand exceeds supply, bringing in several thousand yuan in income every day, with an annual output value reaching 1 million yuan.

Although the two Zhang brothers have run this farm for only a few short months, the farm has been run impressively. Next year the two Zhang brothers also plan to expand the scale, raising 10,000 shelducks, and to drive the surrounding villagers to raise ducks together and prosper.

Today, the tiny duck eggs have turned into "golden eggs" of prosperity one by one.
