Fu Xinrong: Quick-witted and good at making money

She is a beautiful woman whose eyes curve into two crescent moons when she smiles. She is also a bold and enterprising woman who loves trying new things. Whatever is scarce in the market, she plants or raises it. Quick-witted and skilled at making smart money. She is also hardworking, daring to invest, and ahead of her time. She is Fu Xinrong, the wealth-building leader of Haregente Tuoha Village, Xiaoyingpan Town, Bole City.

Made money growing Stropharia rugosoannulata

Fu Xinrong knows well how city people love green food, so she pondered: how can she grow green food that people love?

When she had time, she would go "strolling" around the urban area of Bole City, asking bustling restaurants which dishes customers liked to eat, and what the costs and prices of these dishes were.

In 2014, Fu Xinrong went to Yining City for an inspection and found that growing Stropharia rugosoannulata had low costs and high profits. So full of confidence, she "invited" the Stropharia rugosoannulata from Ili to her planting base and built a "mansion" of more than one mu of land for this rare thing.

This attempt, Fu Xinrong was quite confident about. Stropharia rugosoannulata is very hardy and has few requirements for its environment; it just loves to "shower." Catering to its preferences, Fu Xinrong installed drip irrigation at the planting base. Large and small drip pipes were connected, dripping twice a day, letting the Stropharia rugosoannulata drink its fill. But more than a month passed, then two months, and still there was no sign of Stropharia rugosoannulata. She hurriedly contacted the manufacturer and only after asking learned that the growing environment was too humid. The manufacturer warned her: Stropharia rugosoannulata loves to "shower" most and hates to "soak in a bath" most. So she bought a watering can and sprayed water daily. After two or three hours, both her arms were stiff and aching unbearably.

One day in May this year, Fu Xinrong came to the planting base and sprayed water as usual. Inadvertently, she noticed small red round heads poking out from the gaps in the straw, each one adorably cute. She was so happy she danced for joy, caressing each little head as if stroking a child...

She went to look for partners and brought back order after order. Stropharia rugosoannulata won praise for its crisp, tender, and smooth taste. Daily output of 30 kg, at 30 yuan per kg. This benefit made Jin Chunlian and other women from neighboring villages envious: "Next year we'll grow it too!"

Letting chickens live in a "five-star hotel"

Fu Xinrong has nearly 20 years of chicken-raising experience. Back then, as a specialized chicken farmer, at her most glorious, she raised 10,000 chickens a year. No matter when, she never abandoned her old trade, and she also wanted to write a new chapter in this old industry.

In the first half of this year, after returning from an inspection trip elsewhere, Fu Xinrong gained new understanding and had ideas she had never had before. With a good chicken-raising environment, chickens get sick less; with a comfortable environment, chickens are in a happy mood, and the eggs they produce are of higher quality. If chickens get sick and are given injections and medicine, the eggs they lay will inevitably have drug residues, and then people eat the eggs... that is a vicious cycle.

In order to create a comfortable environment for the chickens and let them live in a "five-star hotel," Fu Xinrong invested more than 1.8 million yuan to purchase equipment and build new chicken coops. In another half month, Fu Xinrong's new chicken-raising equipment will arrive. This set of equipment includes temperature control devices, electrostatic ion sterilization devices, chicken manure conveyor belts, automatic feeding and egg-collecting equipment... In short, Fu Xinrong just wants her chicks to thrive in a clean and comfortable environment.

"Good at using her brain, able to see market trends clearly, and thinking about long-term development. A farmer who can keenly sense the pulse of market demand and turn adjusting the planting and breeding structure into conscious action, this is worth other villagers learning from." Wang Junqing, Party branch secretary of Haregente Tuoha Village, evaluated Fu Xinrong this way.
