On November 2, Wu Jiaxian and the synchronized well-off village-based work team were inspecting the growth of dendrobium seedlings at the dendrobium seedling breeding base in Zhaimen Dong Village, Zaidang Village, Zaima Township, Rongjiang County.

On November 2, Wu Jiaxian displayed the dendrobium seedlings he had cultivated at the dendrobium seedling breeding base in Zhaimen Dong Village, Zaidang Village, Zaima Township, Rongjiang County.

In April this year, Wu Jiaxian and his son Wu Anquan, Dong men from Zaidang Village, Zaima Township, Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, took a different approach by tying the seedlings of the Chinese medicinal herb Dendrobium officinale to tree trunks in deep mountain forests to cultivate them, letting them grow in imitation of the natural ecology to improve their quality. The dried dendrobium cultivated in this way sells for about 1000 yuan more per kilogram than that grown in greenhouses, yielding good returns. This year, Wu Jiaxian and his son Wu Anquan have invested more than 300,000 yuan to contract over 500 mu of secondary virgin forest in Guixiaoye, Zhaimen Dong Village, Zaidang Village, Zaima Township, and cultivate 56 mu of dendrobium, with the cultivation area expected to reach 200 mu next year. At the same time, with the support of the local Party committee and government and the synchronized well-off village-based work team, they are actively mobilizing the public to participate in dendrobium planting.
