According to Zhou Fang, a local farm woman born in 1972 and native to the area, she had been optimistic about the free-range egg sales market since 2001. At that time, she organized five or six sisters, crossed mountains and ridges, and went from village to village and household to household, buying and selling in small baskets the eggs laid by free-range chickens naturally raised by farming households in the Mount Meng scenic area, and registered the brand trademark "Yimeng Good Scenery" for them, so that Mengshan free-range eggs stood in the market with an identity and status.
"At that time, the free-range egg market could be called a pure land. I had never heard of fake free-range eggs, so buying and selling was relatively worry-free. Later, as market demand for free-range eggs kept growing, many 'clever people' set their sights on this market and began factory-style farming of free-range chickens, and thus fake free-range eggs were born," Zhou Fang said with emotion.
The appearance of fake free-range eggs posed a new challenge to the business of the Mengshan free-range egg distribution center. For this reason, Zhou Fang learned while working, repeatedly comparing and tasting from appearance to interior and from mouthfeel to taste. In order to conduct comparison tests, she once broke more than two hundred eggs.
As the saying goes, hard work pays off. After 14 years of painstaking research, Zhou Fang summed up a method combining local and modern approaches to identify real and fake free-range eggs. Consumer recognition grew higher and higher, and business naturally became more and more prosperous. Up to now, the company has developed into the largest free-range egg distribution base in front of Mount Meng, with 26 distribution personnel, 48 purchasing outlets, a daily distribution of ten thousand free-range eggs, and annual sales revenue of 200,000 yuan.
It is reported that the "Pingyi County Mengshan Free-Range Egg Distribution Center" established by Zhou Fang is located at the junction of Pingyi, Mengyin and Fei counties, in the hinterland of Mount Meng. According to a preliminary survey, there are more than 1,000 pure mountainous villages here, with more than 40,000 households, and raising free-range chickens is a traditional custom of the people here. Therefore, the potential for the purchase and sale of free-range eggs here is enormous.
"Next year I plan to add another 40 purchasing outlets, so that the base's daily purchasing and sales capacity reaches 20,000 to 30,000 eggs, and annual sales revenue reaches five or six hundred thousand yuan.
