On the 19th, at the 2015 Central China (Hunan) International Agricultural Expo, the Changsha leisure agriculture exhibition made its debut. At the scene, visitors could experience authentic farm life.
The leisure agriculture themed exhibition area is located on the third floor of the Hongxing International Convention and Exhibition Center, with the exhibition running from November 18 to 24. At the scene, there are emerging agricultural exhibition areas such as leisure agriculture demonstration bases, sightseeing agricultural manors, hot spring mountain resort leisure areas, agricultural tourist attractions, and distinctive ancient towns.
This leisure agriculture exhibition features a total of 37 farm manors rated three stars or above and some distinctive ancient towns. During the event there are five major themed activities: the release of a one-day leisure tour route map around Changsha; a live showcase of local accents and local charm; a television broadcast of leisure agriculture; a Changsha folk life experience; and a "Light Up Changsha" WeChat interaction. In addition to supporting displays of distinctive agriculture from Changsha's districts and counties (cities) and on-site featured promotions of leisure agriculture, there will also be entertaining and visually appealing farm manor shows and interactive activities rich in rural flavor, such as catching loaches, harvesting honey, pottery DIY, and a lucky prize wheel. Visitors who come on that day will have the chance to receive a free Changsha tourism passport, a leisure agriculture tour map, and a fully free rural tour voucher.
The person in charge of the Changsha Municipal Agriculture Commission introduced that Changsha's leisure agriculture has gradually grown and strengthened, and has formed a comprehensive industrial format integrating planting, breeding, processing, production, supply, sales, touring, shopping, and entertainment. At present, Changsha has 371 leisure farm manor enterprises above designated size, 68 farm manors with investment of over ten million yuan, and in 2014 received a total of 25.02 million tourist visits, with comprehensive operating income of 5.28 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8%, absorbing 34,000 employed people, driving 80,000 farming households to benefit directly, and more than 520,000 mu of land transferred and concentrated with industrial structure optimization, achieving coordinated development of economic, social, and ecological benefits.
