Hulunbuir maker Peng Xuzhong rides technology to the road of prosperity

From starting with nothing to building a successful career, from an ordinary farmer to an outstanding entrepreneur, his success was no accident; the real reason lies in a few keywords in his personal dictionary: "integrity, courage, innovation, and compassion." He is a member of the Arong Banner CPPCC, the economic director of Changfa Village in Xinfa Township, a youth entrepreneurship mentor under the China Youth Entrepreneurship International Program, and an Arong Banner young entrepreneur.
Recently, a reporter walked into Xinfa Village of Xinfa Township, long known as the "home of rice," and at the Arong Banner Tianzhu Rice Technology Planting Professional Cooperative met Peng Xuzhong, who is both the company's general manager and the chairman of the board.
Peng Xuzhong is a native of Changfa Village, Korean Ethnic Township, Xinfa Township, Arong Banner. He began working in individual business in 1986, during which time he ran various small businesses. After gaining a certain amount of experience, in 2006 he established Hulunbuir Tianzhu Grain and Oil Trading Co., Ltd., in 2012 expanded Arong Banner Xinfa Rice Industry Co., Ltd., and in 2013 established the Arong Banner "Tianzhu Rice Technology Planting Professional Cooperative."
Peng Xuzhong said: "The cooperative covers an area of 38,363 sq m, with 5,545 sq m already built, and a total investment of 30.24 million yuan. Xinfa Township has a total of 15,000 mu of rice; at present, our special green rice through land transfer covers 4,700 mu, and we have built a comprehensive enterprise supported by Xinfa Rice Industry, with grain processing, grain and oil trading, agricultural and sideline products purchasing, and warehousing trade as its main operations."
The cooperative follows the industrialized operation model of "company + cooperative + base + farmers," adopting unified seed purchasing, unified fertilizer purchasing, unified technical management, unified purchasing, and unified sales for management, and hires agricultural technical experts to go deep into the fields to provide on-site instruction and guidance to farmers. This technology-based farming management model has increased both yield and quality, and it implements premium purchasing: each hectare of special rice brings 3,300 yuan more income than ordinary rice, and the cooperative has helped farmers increase their income by more than 1 million yuan, strongly promoting the development of the county economy.
Guided by the business philosophy of "seeking profit for growers, benefiting eaters, and strengthening the enterprise," and with the mission of creating conservation, low carbon, and environmental protection and serving green agriculture, Peng Xuzhong harmonizes the interests of the cooperative with those of farmers. Salesperson Xiao Li of the company said: "Our 'Yi Luo Dao Di' series of high-refined flour and 'Da Shui Quan Zi' series of premium rice are deeply favored by consumers, and product quality is guaranteed. This year our company has driven 5,252 farming households to grow rice, and signed rice purchase contracts with farmers for nearly 10,000 tons."
According to Peng Xuzhong, relying on more than 10 years of experience in deep rice processing and a rice production line that processes 180 tons of japonica rice per day, the cooperative has the capacity to produce various high- and mid-grade rice, laying a solid foundation for developing special rice. At the same time, the company's Xinfa Rice Industry registered the green label "Alun New Rice" in September 2010, obtained the QS product production license, and was reviewed by the China Green Food Development Center and certified as a Grade A green food product. Its outstanding quality has enabled the products to be sold far away to major cities such as Hulunbuir, Beijing, Chengdu, and Changsha, and even to go abroad to Russia.
Peng Xuzhong said with great hope: "We will make full use of the green industrial chain from rice processing to rice husks and rice straw, truly using everything to the fullest and turning waste into treasure, so that the rice processing industry develops into a truly green industry." He also expressed the hope that rice professional cooperatives in various townships and the Tianzhu Rice Technology Planting Professional Cooperative can form a joint cooperative, fully giving play to the role of cooperative economic organizations, vigorously promoting development models such as "leading enterprise + cooperative + base + farmers" and enterprises building their own bases, linking leading enterprises and base farmers into a close-knit community of interests to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
