"This cattle was transported by me from Linxia City, Gansu Province on October 14. When this cattle entered the farm, it weighed 656 jin. On the morning of November 20, Chen Shengchun, owner of the Hengli Beef Cattle Farm in Yile Town, Jiang'an County, Yibin, said to reporters while pointing at a cattle eating feed.

As early as the 1980s, Chen Shengchun began raising chickens for more than 7 years. Entering the 1990s, he began to get involved in cattle raising. Unexpectedly, cattle raising caused him to lose money for three consecutive years, leaving him deeply in debt. Chen Shengchun said: "There are three main reasons for my losses in cattle raising: 1. Farming technology was not up to standard; 2. The market was unclear; 3. Transportation was backward." In 2002, Chen Shengchun went to Chongqing to work, also in cattle raising. While working desperately, he diligently learned cattle-raising techniques. After 10 years of hard struggle, he paid off all his debts. In October 2014, he returned to his hometown, Heli Village, Yile Town, with funds and technology, and took up his old trade again, returning to cattle raising.

Chen Shengchun put into action the cattle-raising techniques he learned in Chongqing and the feed formula he had devoted himself to studying for many years, especially adopting the scientific combination of 7 kinds of feed including distillers' grains, oil cake, wheat bran, and concentrate, achieving unexpected success. The beef cattle he raised could gain 3-5 jin of meat a day. A village cadre accompanying the reporter on the visit said: "I told people at the Yile Town government that the cattle raised by Chen Shengchun gain 3 or 4 jin of meat a day. Chen Shengchun talked to reporters about his special skill in cattle raising: if raised from calves, it is impossible to achieve such results.
