Post-80s village official in Nijiaying Town, Linze becomes a leader in prosperity through entrepreneurship
From his coming of age at twenty to standing firm at thirty, Liu Zhenhua grew from an impetuous young man into a fairly experienced entrepreneur. With diligent hands and ideas that kept pace with the times, the standardized pig breeding professional cooperative he founded grew larger and larger, and he led ambitious young entrepreneurs from the whole village onto the road to prosperity through breeding.
Liu Zhenhua is now the Party branch secretary of Huangjiawan Village in Nijiaying Town, Linze County. The Defu Standardized Breeding Farm he founded introduced advanced domestic standardized pig breeding technology, which while effectively preventing and controlling disease can reduce pig mortality and maximize breeding benefits.
Speaking of Liu Zhenhua's entrepreneurial path, one must go back more than ten years. In 2001, when he was about to graduate from teachers college, his father, then in the prime of life, suddenly passed away in an accident. In heart-wrenching grief, Liu Zhenhua truly felt for the first time the fragility of life and the hardship of living. But faced with his elderly, frail grandmother, his mother who had lost her husband, and his young, innocent sister, he swallowed his tears and resolved to hold up a bright sky for this storm-tossed family.
When his father was alive, the family ran a shop and also had 8 mu of land. To share his mother's burdens and solve her difficulties, Liu Zhenhua voluntarily gave up his studies and returned home to run the shop and support his sister's schooling. Under his painstaking management, life continued for several years in simple plainness; though not wealthy, the family had no worry about food or clothing.
In 2007, domestic pork prices rose and market prospects were broad. Many farmers raising pigs had made their fortunes, and seeing this business opportunity, Liu Zhenhua mortgaged the shop, took out a loan of 200,000 yuan and built a breeding farm, raising 200 pigs, hoping to improve the family's life through developing the breeding industry. However, the entrepreneurial road is not always smooth. In the second year after the farm was built, due to insufficient breeding experience, a large-scale epidemic broke out, and more than half of the piglets not yet sent to market died in the raging epidemic. The family was anxious all day long, sitting on pins and needles. But Liu Zhenhua, having already weathered storms, did not give up because of this. He continued to find relatives and friends to guarantee loans to bring in piglets, and worked hard to learn from the breeding experience of his predecessors. Finally, through his tireless efforts, the farm saw the clouds part and the moon shine through, and began to profit in 2009. Relying on income from running the shop and raising pigs, by 2010 Liu Zhenhua's total household income reached 200,000 yuan.
Liu Zhenhua, already living a moderately prosperous life, was not satisfied with the status quo; he wanted the fellow villagers who had once helped him to get rich together. In 2011, through several rounds of effort, Liu Zhenhua joined hands with Lanzhou CP Group and, relying on the enterprise's financial strength, built a high-standard, modern ten-thousand-pig farm at the east end of the village. After the farm was completed, he encouraged young friends in the village with entrepreneurial ideas to join, mobilized 22 farming households in the village to take shares, and established the Huakang Standardized Pig Breeding Professional Cooperative, initially bringing in 2,200 pigs for breeding. Following the breeding philosophy of "same-source introduction of breeding stock, segmented feeding, all-in all-out, and matching of four good practices," it pioneered scientific pig farming in the whole county. After the first batch of pigs was sent to market, cooperative members received an average dividend of 10,000 yuan per household. Faced with this considerable income, the villagers who had joined the cooperative were all overjoyed.
In the village "two committees" leadership election at the end of 2011, Liu Zhenhua, carrying the trust of all the villagers, was elected director of the Huangjiawan Village Committee. With the support of the village "two committees" leadership and the masses, he on the one hand continued to expand the scale of pig, beef cattle and mutton sheep breeding, and on the other hand mobilized farming households to build solar greenhouses, taking the circular economy development path of "straw feeding - manure returned to fields - green and low-carbon."
At the end of 2013, during the "two committees" leadership election, Liu Zhenhua was smoothly elected Party branch secretary of Huangjiawan Village. He seized the opportunity and, centering on the reform approach of "economic transformation and leapfrog development," encouraged and mobilized capable farming households to start businesses and get rich. Under Liu Zhenhua's leadership, Huangjiawan Village's distinctive forest and fruit industry gradually moved onto the path of scaled development, effectively increasing farmers' income. The former barren beach is now covered with trees and fruit trees, which not only enriched the lives of the whole village but also effectively improved the ecological environment of Huangjiawan Village. In livestock breeding, Liu Zhenhua further standardized the development and operation of the Yuanda Breeding Professional Cooperative and the Huakang Standardized Pig Breeding Professional Cooperative, driving 36 farming households in the village to develop efficient animal husbandry and carry out specialized production. The Huakang Standardized Pig Breeding Professional Cooperative's pig breeding volume has now reached 10,000 head, with 8,000 sent to market, and annual sales revenue exceeding 7 million yuan.
"There is no road longer than the foot. The more difficulties on the entrepreneurial road, the more one must firm up one's convictions and the more one must have a sense of responsibility and the courage to take on burdens. Only by walking every step beneath one's feet solidly can one go farther." Speaking of more than ten years of entrepreneurial experience, Liu Zhenhua said with deep emotion!
