"Double Twelve": Nansha agricultural e-commerce operators rush to list; mud crabs sell as far as **

During "Double Eleven", Nansha agricultural e-commerce seller Li Hao sold nearly a hundred jin of mud crabs in a single day, with the farthest sales reaching **. With "Double Twelve" approaching again, Li Hao, who has tasted success, is full of motivation once more. He says he will take "Yangcheng Lake" hairy crabs as his goal and convey the concept of "Dining in Nansha" to food lovers across the country.

Selling Nansha mud crabs as far as **

The reporter saw the busy Li Hao beside a fish pond on Longxue Island, practicing how to tie up mud crabs. Wrapping the red string from the claws around to the back of the crab and tying a knot completes the binding of one mud crab. The bound mud crabs are placed in a cardboard box lined with reeds for express delivery. "Now my farthest customer has already reached **." Li Hao told the reporter that, entrusted by a friend, he was preparing to send mud crabs to his friend's parents far away in **, so they could taste fresh seafood.

In October of this year, Li Hao, who lives in Dongchong, returned to his hometown and began his e-commerce entrepreneurial journey. He opened an online shop on Taobao called "Guangzhou Nansha Mud Crab", specializing in Nansha mud crabs produced in his own family's fish pond. At present, Li Hao has sold Nansha mud crabs to more than a dozen provinces across the country, "and some customers buy more than a dozen jin at a time."

Li Hao said he can now sell about twenty jin of mud crabs online every day, priced at more than 100 yuan per jin, with daily sales reaching more than 2,000 yuan. If sold to wholesalers in the traditional way, the current purchase price for mud crabs is only about 70 to 80 yuan. During "Double Eleven", Li Hao even sold nearly a hundred jin of mud crabs in a single day. "The advantage of online sales is that it can expand the sales range and sell directly to consumers, leaving more room for profit," Li Hao concluded.

Lack of experience once caused heavy losses

"I saw that my uncle's family had been raising mud crabs for more than 20 years, and every year they sold them to wholesalers at cheap wholesale prices, so I was determined to help my family's agriculture transform and upgrade." Li Hao told the reporter that his process of opening an online shop was not smooth sailing. Because he had no experience, at the beginning he did not know how to package mud crabs, and about one out of every ten mud crabs would die, causing heavy losses.

Li Hao said, "We spent about two weeks preparing, and the online shop opened on October 2, but at first there were no customers at all." During that period with no customers, Li Hao was very anxious, but he could only try his best to promote and wait patiently. "I still clearly remember that on the fourth day after the online shop opened, October 6, a customer from Guangzhou came to buy our crabs, and I truly felt relieved."

Aiming to build the Nansha mud crab brand

Before running an agricultural online shop, Li Hao had been the director of the e-commerce department of a jewelry company, earning more than ten thousand yuan a month. In his hometown of Dongchong, quite a few farming families are trying to do e-commerce. But in the view of Li Hao, who has a professional background in e-commerce, these people have not truly made good use of e-commerce as an emerging business model. "Everyone lacks a fixed team, philosophy and plan, and just promotes casually and haphazardly online or sells some things." Li Hao said that if agricultural e-commerce is to truly develop, the villagers engaged in e-commerce still need systematic training.

Regarding the future of his online shop, Li Hao also has clear goals and plans. "I hope to continue expanding the sales scale in the future. By then I will expand the variety of goods sold and establish a company to enter large e-commerce platforms such as Tmall and JD.com." Li Hao hopes that his Nansha mud crabs can one day be built into a well-known brand like "Yangcheng Lake" hairy crabs, serving as a spokesperson for "Dining in Nansha".
