Hajiang of the 9th Company, 29th Regiment, 2nd Division of the Corps Finds Prosperity Through Livestock Farming
**Hajiang, a worker of the 9th Company, 29th Regiment, 2nd Division of the Production and Construction Corps, set up a livestock farming cooperative and found prosperity through developing the livestock industry.
Hajiang, now 52 years old, moved with his parents from Harbin City to the 29th Regiment in 1964. When he first arrived at the 29th Regiment, his life and family income remained unstable, and it was not until 1980 that he began to gradually develop his livestock farming path.
"I started working in 1980 and have always been in the 9th Company. Conditions were not very good at the time. I always wanted to develop livestock farming and grow in many areas through my own work and farming." said Hajiang, a worker of the 9th Company, 29th Regiment.
Through his own efforts, Hajiang's farming scale has been growing steadily, and every year he sells more than 300 sheep, 30 horses and 40 donkeys.
Seeing that his livestock business had achieved some success, Hajiang now began discussing with his neighbors to set up a cooperative together.
"At first I raised 50 sheep. Because the policy allowed it, I set up a Hajiang livestock cooperative. Now we raise more than 1,300. In order to raise our cooperative's sheep even better, I have confidence and determination to develop and expand our livestock cooperative and make our wallets a bit fuller." said Hajiang, a worker of the 9th Company, 29th Regiment.
Hajiang told the reporter that his family's sheep, donkeys and horses are also increasing steadily, so in winter he has to prepare a great deal of forage. For this reason, Hajiang spent about 50,000 yuan this year to buy several thousand bundles of forage and 130 tons of silage.
"For the safe wintering of our more than 1,300 sheep, we prepared more than 2,000 bundles of hay, and also prepared 10 tons of corn and 130 tons of silage." said Hajiang, a worker of the 9th Company, 29th Regiment.
