Wealth-Building Experience and Methods Shared by a Large-Scale Pig Farmer
Early in the morning, at the pig farm of Zhang Shujie, a farmer in Jinxing Village, Jixian County, the rumbling sound of a feed-processing machine could be heard from afar. Zhang Shujie, 65 years old, was mixing feed. "For every 100 jin of corn, add 25 jin of soybean meal, then add an appropriate amount of bran or rice hulls according to the pig's growth cycle." While putting feed into the processing machine, Zhang Shujie chatted with the reporter about his "pig-raising guide."
After mixing the feed, Zhang Shujie began cleaning the pig pens. In row after row of clean pens, sturdy pigs were leisurely "strolling" about. "Raising pigs also requires methods and techniques. Let them 'stroll' more, and the meat will be finer and tastier, so it will naturally sell at a good price!" Zhang Shujie said enthusiastically.
In earlier years, Zhang Shujie and his wife had always farmed at home, while their son did business elsewhere. A few years ago, when his son returned to the village and saw that former neighbors had become wealthy through large-scale pig farming, he too had the idea of returning home to build a pig farm. So father and son raised funds and built pig pens. "After several years of development, we can now send several hundred pigs to market every year, and our income can reach more than 100,000 yuan. What's more, we've even bought a private car and truly embarked on a prosperous, moderately well-off life," Zhang Shujie told the reporter cheerfully.
"Don't be fooled by the current scale; at the beginning we suffered a lot," Zhang Shujie said with deep feeling when talking about the hardships of starting a business. When he first started raising pigs, due to a lack of technology and funds, he raised only a few pigs and they grew slowly. In addition, sales channels were poor, so after a year of hard work, he not only earned nothing but also lost a lot of money. To solve the technical problems, Zhang Shujie often attended breeding technology training and also invited experts to provide on-site guidance. To reduce costs, Zhang Shujie bought a grinder, processed feed himself, and cleaned the pig pens...
Talking about his future plans, Zhang Shujie was full of confidence. He planned to continue expanding the breeding scale according to a standardized model, with the number of pigs sent to market increasing gradually every year, and to renovate the pig farm so that his pig-raising business would develop faster and better and he could live an increasingly prosperous life!
