Yun Xuefei, a leader in getting rich, leads the villagers toward a better life

Yun Xuefei, 27 years old this year, lives in Wenming Village, Donglin Township, Hailun City. Relying on a "breeding + planting" model, he has led the many fellow villagers onto a path to prosperity.

Unwilling to be just a farmer, although he only graduated from junior high school, he has progressive ideas and a quick mind, and felt that the breeding industry was a way forward. So he took this idea to discuss with village leaders and received strong support from them. With the help of the village leaders, he successively went to Lanxi, Wukeshu in Jilin, Hailar and other places to inspect and study, and after returning he embarked on the path of raising cattle. He did not have much education, nor much technical skill, but he had a drive to dig in and a tenacious refusal to admit defeat, and through self-study he mastered cattle-raising techniques. In 2012, Yun Xuefei established the "Xuefei" dairy cattle farm and began his cattle-raising career. As of this year, his farm has more than 70 dairy cows and beef cattle, with an annual income of more than 300,000 yuan. Now Yun Xuefei is engaged in both dairy and beef cattle breeding while also transferring land to grow soybeans and corn. Through the "breeding + planting" model, Yun Xuefei has obtained very considerable economic benefits.

Although Yun Xuefei got onto the path to prosperity by raising dairy cows and beef cattle, he did not forget the villagers who lived alongside him. Under his guidance, one farmer after another in the village began to engage in the breeding industry. Villager Wang Zhongbao was one who, under his leadership, got onto the path to prosperity by raising cattle. Wang Zhongbao said: "I used to farm, and the returns were not bad, but I saw that Yun Xuefei was doing well raising cattle, so I also brought in more than 20 cattle, raising them for a year with a try-it-and-see attitude, and the returns really were not bad. Next year I plan to continue expanding the scale and carry out large-scale beef cattle breeding."

In recent years, under Yun Xuefei's influence and the leadership of the village's two committees, Wenming Village has reached 15 households raising dairy and beef cattle, 1 household raising pigs, and 1 household raising bees. The whole village has more than 200 beef cattle and dairy cows, the village collective's annual income has increased by nearly 3 million yuan, and breeding households' annual income has increased by more than 20,000 yuan. It is understood that in 2016, Wenming Village will also have two households of villagers join the dairy and beef cattle breeding industry.
