In recent years, with the support of the national policy of enriching the border and the people and the support of the regiment, Cheng Xinguo and his wife, after 9 years of hard work, built a chicken farm and established the "Lvfeng Poultry Breeding Professional Cooperative" with an annual output of 230,000 poultry, which boosted the enthusiasm of the regiment's workers for poultry breeding and broke the myth that poultry breeding was a blank spot in the 184th Regiment.

The establishment of the "Lvfeng Poultry Breeding Professional Cooperative" boosted the regiment workers' enthusiasm for poultry breeding. In 2014, after analyzing market demand, Cheng Xinguo decisively shifted from broiler breeding to single-purpose laying hen breeding. After 1 year of trial, the products were favored by residents of the regiment and surrounding areas. Wang Feng, the owner of a vegetable shop in the 184th Regiment, who was unloading eggs from the vehicle, said: "Having our own laying hen farm saves us a lot of money. In the past, the eggs brought in from outside would not only be damaged in many cases but also some would be rotten. Now it's good, the eggs delivered every day are fresh, and customers all know it and like to buy them." By 2015, Cheng Xinguo's laying hens had reached more than 20,000 birds. The eggs produced could not only guarantee the needs of the regiment's residents but were also sent to surrounding areas such as Tuolegai and Karamay.

In order to free up more time to ensure supply, Cheng Xinguo hired 4 employees specifically responsible for chicken coop management, while he himself was responsible for deliveries every day. His wife opened a "Lvfeng Poultry Shop" in the market, mainly selling eggs and poultry products raised by cooperative members, with an annual income of more than 100,000 yuan. In 2015, Cheng Xinguo and his wife started a business together. On the road to prosperity, "singing in harmony" as a couple with one heart, the family income reached more than 400,000 yuan.
