Internet Plus Farm Helps Wang Yongxin of the 75th Regiment onto the Road to Prosperity
On December 24, the author learned from the Youth League Committee of the 75th Regiment of the Fourth Division that Wang Yongxin, a young man of the regiment, had been awarded the title of one of the first "Top Ten Youth Internet Entrepreneurship Stars" of Kokdala, the Fourth Division, jointly organized by the Division's Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Division's Youth League Committee.
Wang Yongxin, born in the 1980s, is as ordinary and unremarkable as other regiment workers. He has no exceptional education or intellect, and no substantial capital to invest. With nothing but a conscientious sense of responsibility and a commitment to honesty and trustworthiness, he set out on an ordinary entrepreneurial path.
The 75th Regiment is located on the Zhaosu Plateau, in a remote area. It is a farming and herding regiment with 104,000 mu of cultivated land. Wheat, rapeseed, potatoes and flax are the regiment's main crops and the main source of income for the local workers and residents. As a young man, he was unwilling to be like his parents, who relied on 70 mu of land as their sole source of livelihood all year round. He resolved to open up a world of his own with his own two hands. In 2009, he took out his only 20,000 yuan in savings plus 10,000 yuan provided by his family and joined an agricultural materials company in Ili, starting a small business selling agricultural chemicals in the 75th Regiment.
Hard work pays off, and effort brings rewards. Because he was down-to-earth, honest and trustworthy, he was well liked by the workers and residents, and many customers came to him on their own initiative to buy his agricultural chemicals, so his business thrived. After several years of hard work, Wang Yongxin had a stable business and income and had accumulated a certain amount of capital. To further expand his business and scale up, in 2013 he opened a branch agricultural materials store in Xiata Township, 15 kilometers from the regiment, expanding the storefront to more than 40 sq m and increasing the product range by more than 20 items.
However, because townships and regiments lacked a unified, standardized and real-time market information publishing platform, and because the intermediary links in the sale of agricultural products and agricultural materials were overly complicated, problems arose frequently in the operation of the agricultural materials market. Faced with these difficulties, Wang Yongxin did not lose heart. Instead, he thought hard, and after continuous study, exploration and research, he discovered that a new business model using "mobile Internet plus farm" - the cloud farm - could solve this problem. Through a friend's introduction, Wang Yongxin contacted the Yining agent of "Cloud Farm" and successfully joined this networked agricultural materials collective, becoming the village station manager of the "Cloud Farm 75th Regiment Service Station." Cloud Farm took root in the 75th Regiment and soon spread to every corner of the regiment and the surrounding townships and farms.
Through the "Internet plus farm" model, Wang Yongxin simplified the many circulation links in product sales, saved suppliers a great deal of operating costs, and also greatly facilitated farmers' needs. Now the owner of two stores and one online service station, he earns 150,000 yuan a year. In the great tide of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation," he has carved out a world of his own, embarked on the road to prosperity, and become the recognized leader in online entrepreneurship in the eyes of the workers and residents of the 75th Regiment.
