Poultry farmer father and son leverage Internet Plus entrepreneurship to help farmers get rich together and win award
Recently, the first Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Internet Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Selection Competition was held at the Hunan News Hotel. A total of more than 40 enterprises were shortlisted, among which a father and son from Yueyang won an award together for being the first to use the Internet to organize a "cooperative" to help farmers get rich together; in addition, Liao Keqin, director of the Hunan Provincial People's Government Office in Shenzhen and president of the Shenzhen Hunan Chamber of Commerce, was honored as one of the top ten innovation leaders.
The organizers of this event included the Organizing Committee of the First Hunan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Event, the Mobile E-commerce Special Committee of the China Communications Industry Association, and Yueyang Haoshuang Mattress Co., Ltd., etc. The title sponsor units were Delos (Guangdong) Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. and Delos (Hunan) Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. The enterprises participating in the event came from Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangxi, Guizhou and various cities and prefectures of Hunan.

As the only government department staff member to win an award, Liao Keqin, director of the Hunan Office in Shenzhen, earned it because he focused on promoting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Shenzhen and Hunan, attracted investment for the Hengyang Baishazhou Industrial Park and Chenzhou Zixing in Hunan, and made contributions to bringing Lens Technology into Hunan.
The father and son from Yueyang are from Yueyang County. The father is named Yu Yunlai, 48 years old this year, and the son is named Yu Peng, in his 20s this year. Yu Yunlai, who has an elementary school education, began starting businesses in his 20s. He once worked as a carpenter, ran a precast slab factory, and sold motorcycles. In 2006 he went to Guangdong to open factories, establishing a Xiang embroidery factory, a printing factory and a computer company. In 2008, due to the economic recession, he suffered severe losses.
Afterwards, Yu Yunlai returned to his hometown and began cooperative breeding. He and his son, among others, provided chicks, ducklings and piglets, then distributed them to hundreds of farming households for breeding, then bought them back, and sold them through the Internet.
At present, Yu Yunlai can generate tens of millions in income each year for his fellow villagers, and the Yueyang native pig he founded has also become a specialty product of Yueyang, selling well within and outside the province.
5 years ago, Yu Yunlai's son Yu Peng marketed for his father through the Internet. Now the father and son have 6 websites, and can supervise the farming households without leaving home.
