New-type greenhouse helps Liu Naiyu increase income by more than 100,000 yuan
"I put one 'earth cube' into use, built 4 'warm kang' in each of the 2 greenhouses, laid pipes, and at night or on rainy days, as long as the temperature does not reach 18°C, I light a fire for heating, so the cherry trees do not suffer from the cold and live healthily, thus achieving the effect of protecting flowers and fruits." In a cherry greenhouse in Houshuibei Village, Dongli Town, Yiyuan County, Shandong Province, Liu Naiyu pointed to a "warm kang" in the greenhouse and told this writer.
"Especially during full bloom, if there is rain, snow, a cold wave, or a drop in temperature, using the 'warm kang' to heat the greenhouse can ensure the temperature stays at 18-20°C, and the cherries in the greenhouse can bloom about 10 days earlier." Speaking of his warm kang, Liu Naiyu was somewhat proud.
In the evening, Liu Naiyu flicked on the greenhouse switch with a "pop," and the 16 biogas lamps in the greenhouse instantly lit up. What came into view were 2 round cement biogas pits exposed above the ground. "Look, these biogas pits are connected to the toilet and pigsty. After manure flows in and ferments, it can produce biogas, which can not only provide lighting, but also kill insects and sterilize. The biogas slurry and biogas residue can be used as fertilizer to produce pollution-free agricultural products."
It is understood that since 2009, Dongli Town has vigorously developed the biogas sector. It not only invested more than 1 million yuan to encourage farmers to build biogas pits, but also organically combined biogas construction, livestock breeding, vegetable greenhouses, and comprehensive utilization of crop straw, vigorously developing ecological circular agriculture with "livestock-biogas-fruit" and "livestock-biogas-vegetable" as the main models, taking the path of circular economy development. Old Liu's cherry greenhouse was also transformed into an integrated energy-saving and environmentally friendly new-type greenhouse of "livestock-biogas-fruit," completely changing their business model.
"Take my two greenhouses for example. In the past, water, fertilizer, and pesticides cost no less than 26,000 yuan each year. Since using the 'warm kang' and biogas lamps, input has been reduced by no less than 8,000 yuan each year, and they reach the market 15 days earlier than other growers. The cherries produced are large, brightly colored, and taste good. When put on the market, they not only fetch a high price but also sell very well. Last year alone, these 2 new greenhouses increased income by more than 100,000 yuan." Liu Naiyu said happily.
