Small pigeons build a big industry, becoming the vanguard of farmers getting rich
In Heishi Village, Shilong Town, Langzhong City, Zhao Anhao's name is known to virtually every household. Before 2006, Zhao Anhao had been working in Guangdong. Unwilling to accept his lot, he thought constantly about how to start a business back in his hometown, and every day after work he wondered how to develop and prosper in his own mountain hollow. Because he was passionate about breeding, he realized that raising pigeons had good prospects, so he regularly consulted all kinds of materials and learned that pigeons are treasures from head to tail, with high nutritional value and large market demand, able to bring very good economic returns. So in 2006, he resolutely returned home from Guangdong, bringing back with him the 300 pairs of breeding pigeons he had purchased, and began his road to wealth through breeding.
At the beginning, because he did not understand the techniques, the pigeons grew poorly and came down with pigeon diseases, bringing no economic returns, which made Zhao Anhao extremely anxious. So he consulted pigeon-raising "experts" everywhere, pored over a large number of technical books himself, downloaded a great deal of related material from the internet, and worked out the experience on his own, never discouraged and never giving up. Developing to this day, he has invested nearly 500,000 yuan in his own breeding farm, with nearly 20,000 domestic pigeons. The pigeons are sold to many surrounding counties and cities, supplying the market with 100 squabs and 200 pigeon eggs every day. His annual income is now preliminarily estimated at around 200,000 yuan.
Zhao Anhao said: "I never expected that raising livestock at home could bring such good returns, and that small pigeons could become a big industry." Through nearly ten years of breeding and business management, he himself has become a breeding "expert" and a skilled manager. He said that every time he shares his experience with the neighbors around him, he sincerely hopes he can lead everyone to get rich together.
Now the nearby villagers come one after another to ask Zhao Anhao about pigeon-raising experience, and Zhao Anhao is glad to pass it on and help everyone start businesses. He said: "Next spring, I will expand the scale of breeding and add another 10,000 pigeons." Zhao Anhao said that the market is good now and the government has good policies, so he must seize the development opportunity and lead the folks to get rich together.
