Xinong wheat is top-notch, coming from the hands of veteran breeding expert Wang Hui

A simple wish supported him in taking root in the small city of Yangling, forming a bond with the land, and he never left for 43 years. Over more than ten years, the improved wheat variety "Xinong 979" that he bred became one of China's main winter wheat varieties. Despite being loaded with honors, he is content with a plain life, and in his old age he still remains true to his original aspiration, silently cultivating the fields. He said that wheat's "growth code" is taking root in the soil, and that a breeder's life is only meaningful when deeply cultivated in the fields.
He is Wang Hui, a retired professor at the College of Agronomy of Northwest A&F University. For 43 years, he has bred crops, educated people, and nurtured souls, always tied to the land, taking root and sprouting like a seed, tillering and heading...
