New-style training helps Wang Shunhua get on the road to prosperity

When it comes to the vegetables in his own greenhouse, Wang Shunhua is always "extremely careful."

Walking into vegetable farmer Wang Shunhua's tomato greenhouse, hot and humid air rushes at you, and the tomatoes on the trellises are growing vigorously. Wang Shunhua, now in his 40s, is from Zhaoqiao Village, Dongyuan Town, Shapotou District, and has nearly ten years of experience growing in greenhouses. This year, he contracted 4 greenhouses and planted tomatoes, eggplants and cucumbers.

"I reckon this greenhouse of eggplants of mine can sell for around 40,000 yuan. One greenhouse can bring in an income of fifty or sixty thousand yuan a year." Pointing to the eggplants in the greenhouse, Wang Shunhua said that his greenhouse growing in recent years is different from before, and that growers like them have gradually transformed into new-style farmers who speak science and understand technology, and for this he also has to thank the new-style farmer training classes organized by the municipal agriculture and animal husbandry department.

Wang Shunhua told reporters that a few years ago, they all grew in greenhouses blindly, with large investment and low returns, not paying attention to trace elements and not paying attention to protecting and nourishing the roots. After he participated for two years in new-style agricultural training classes held by the relevant departments, he learned a lot of growing techniques. When he applied this knowledge and these techniques in practice, the output of the vegetables in his own greenhouse increased by a great deal at once.

Wang Shunhua said confidently that he is now the best grower of greenhouse vegetables in their village, and the changes in his life have been the greatest, all because of the various scientific growing and management techniques he has learned.
