**Fukang City farmer invests more than 3 million yuan to build an edible mushroom production base

During the Spring Festival period, Wang Yonggang of Nanwan Village, Chengguan Town, Fukang, was not idle either. The main structure of the edible mushroom production base he built with an investment of more than 3 million yuan was completed, and trial production was carried out. The average daily income from picking edible mushrooms was about 1,000 yuan, which gave him more confidence and expectations for the new year.

With the support of the Fukang agricultural department, Wang Yonggang began developing edible mushroom production in 2013, and it soon brought him tangible benefits. At first, Wang Yonggang used idle vegetable greenhouses in winter for production, with an average net profit of 28,000 yuan per greenhouse, 2 to 4 times higher than vegetable production alone. Having tasted the benefits, Wang Yonggang decided to fund the construction of an edible mushroom production base himself, carry out large-scale edible mushroom production, and lead surrounding farmers to become prosperous together.

This edible mushroom production base invested in and built by Wang Yonggang has a total investment of more than 3 million yuan, covers an area of 1,500 sq m, and has an annual edible mushroom production capacity of 1 million bags, all produced inside factory buildings. It changed the previous problems of simple facilities and equipment and cumbersome management when growing edible mushrooms in plastic greenhouses. It laid the foundation for achieving factory-based, large-scale and demonstration-oriented production.

After the Spring Festival, Wang Yonggang will immediately organize workers to resume work and strive to achieve full production as soon as possible. After full production, he will also introduce some "new, special and excellent" varieties for experimental planting work, aiming to cultivate a batch of efficient and high-quality new edible mushroom varieties for promotion and planting. This will meet the needs of experimental demonstration of more new varieties and the application and promotion of more new technologies, ultimately driving more farmers to carry out edible mushroom production and planting, increasing farmers' income, and helping surrounding farmers find employment.
