Currently, in the 1500-mu camellia oleifera base of the Gaotun Modern Agriculture Park in Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, more than 100 independent chicken coops have been built. With their superior environment, they are like chicken "villas". A total of more than 5000 local native chickens are raised freely here, forming a uniquely distinctive "under-forest chicken raising" model.

According to the person in charge of the camellia oleifera base, since 2015, park staff have experimented with "under-forest chicken raising". Compared with cage raising, the chickens can move around freely, which both saves feed costs and eliminates pests for the woodland.
