Through establishing a "three-tier virus-free breeding system for improved citrus varieties," Chongqing has reduced the occurrence of pests and diseases such as citrus huanglongbing, citrus canker, and citrus exocortis, providing technical support for the city's seedling industry and boosting modern agricultural development. At present, Chongqing has built 12 disease-free seedling cultivation enterprises, occupying more than 80% of the national market for disease-free citrus seedlings, with an annual output value of about 350 million yuan.
