Guo Lingdi of Lengkeng, Huaiji, builds a path to prosperity through entrepreneurship
Recently, the reporter came to the tea oil tree production base planted by Guo Lingdi in Qianjin Village, Lengkeng Town, Huaiji County, and saw tea oil trees planted on several hillsides, with green covering the mountains, needle-shaped leaves swaying in the wind, and after picking a few leaves and rubbing them with the hands, a fragrant aroma filled the air, refreshing the mind.
"This tea oil tree has a strong wind-oil scent and is mainly used for the production of medical and daily chemical products such as external medicinal oils, cosmetics, essential oils, and insecticide water, and can play a role in reducing inflammation, beautifying, and killing insects. The products made from it are very popular among people," Guo Lingdi said in an introduction.
It is understood that the tea oil tree is an oil plant introduced from Australia, suitable for planting in both mountainous land and paddy fields, and can be planted in large contiguous areas.
In 2013, since Guo Lingdi leased more than 500 mu of mountainous land in Qianjin Village to plant Australian tea oil trees, he has been engaged in planting tea oil trees and processing essential oil, as well as product purchasing and processing, sales, and scientific and technological information services, achieving remarkable economic and social benefits.
In order to expand the planting scale of tea oil trees as soon as possible, Guo Lingdi established the Nanling Tea Oil Tree Planting Professional Cooperative in Lengkeng Town, becoming the only entity enterprise in Huaiji and even the Zhaoqing area at present that has introduced tea oil tree planting and production. The cooperative has continued to develop, with an annual output value of 6.5 million yuan, radiating and driving more than 100 planting households. In March 2015, the cooperative was awarded the title of "Women's Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base" by the Zhaoqing Municipal Women's Federation.
In addition, in recent years, Guo Lingdi invested hundreds of thousands of yuan to build an oil distillation plant on the mountain. After the harvested tea oil trees are chopped, the trunks, branches, and leaves are all processed together for oil distillation, and then the semi-finished products are transported to Guangzhou for deep processing. One ton of tea oil trees can distill 8 to 10 kg of tea oil, and the products are exported to Australia and other places. If calculated based on planting 500 mu of tea oil trees, the total oil output is more than 30 tons, with a price of 180,000-220,000 yuan per ton, and a total output value of 6.5 million yuan, showing broad prospects for industrial development.
