In recent years, due to natural disasters, the income from the orchard planted by Song Ronghe, a worker of the 8th Gardening Company of the 30th Regiment of the Second Division of the **Production and Construction Corps, was greatly affected. Facing the situation, he actively responded to the call of the regiment Party committee to take multiple channels to increase income, gave play to his own advantages, and began raising colorful pheasants, and his life gradually improved.

"While our breeding scale keeps expanding, the company Party branch made efforts to establish the Yuanfa Farmers' Breeding Professional Cooperative for us, which solved our sales problem. The establishment of the cooperative built a very good platform for our development of livestock and poultry breeding. Last year I raised more than 4,500 pheasants and more than 200 guinea fowl, and my net income was more than 40,000 yuan," Song Ronghe happily told this writer.
