In March this year, he returned to the village and invested more than 100,000 yuan to plant more than 10 mu of Gerbera daisies.
It is understood that these flowers, which look like sunflowers, are called Gerbera daisies, also known as Barberton daisies. Gerbera daisies are elegant and upright, beautiful and refined, giving people a feeling of warmth and peace. At weddings, people often like to use Gerbera daisies to make bouquets to decorate wedding cars and the bridal room. As long as the temperature is suitable, Gerbera daisies can bloom all year round, and the economic benefits are very considerable. Yu Qiguo told reporters that the Gerbera daisies he grows now can be picked once every two days on average, 5,000 stems at a time, with an annual income of more than 100,000 yuan.
Yu Qiguo said in his introduction that at present these flowers are mainly sold to the Shanghai and Zhejiang areas, where the market demand is very good and supply falls short of demand. At the same time, there is also local demand. A batch was picked this morning as well, basically once every two days.
Talking about the next step in development, Yu Qiguo said he will further expand the planting area, broaden the varieties of flowers grown, and encourage the surrounding villagers to grow them together, leading everyone to create wealth together.
