Zhangjiachuan, a university student, develops ecological farming to help villagers get rich

Anjiaba Village in Qingshen County got its name from "Huguang filling Sichuan, migrants settling at Anjia point." The Shaxi River surrounds the whole village, which is rich in water resources. Most local villagers make their living from fish farming, hence the well-known name "Anjia Fishing Village." In order to make good use of this calling card and help villagers escape poverty and become prosperous, county-level leaders, relevant departments and the poverty alleviation village work team took the initiative to bring enterprises into the village.

Zhangjiachuan, 28 years old last year, said he wanted to cooperate with Qingshen County's poverty alleviation work and build an ecological farming base in Anjiaba Village, with loaches and frogs as the main products. In September 2015, through land transfer, he contracted 300 mu of land in Group 5 of Anjiaba Village, including 200 mu for a loach base, 90 mu for a frog base, and 10 mu for offices, living quarters and supporting facilities. Now, his loach farming has already reached a considerable scale, with 140 mu of loach farming fully achieving self-production and self-sales, frog farming has begun production, and many local villagers have also joined in the farming. At present, the construction of roads, ditches and office space is being gradually improved.

Last September, Deputy County Magistrate Hou Rui led a team to Anjiaba Village in Hebazi Town to conduct a special survey on loach farming.

It is understood that Taiwan loach has a short growth cycle and high yield per mu, with good economic value. It can be marketed after 3-5 months of farming, the yield per mu can reach more than 2000 jin, and the sales income per mu can reach about 30000 yuan, basically achieving a profit of 10000 yuan/mu. Frogs can be fully fed with artificial feed through artificial breeding, can be sold in the same year, the yield per mu can reach about 2000 jin, and the sales income per mu can reach about 50000 yuan, basically achieving a profit of 20000 yuan/mu.

Deputy County Magistrate Hou Rui required relevant units to make concerted efforts, scientifically and rationally develop modern aquaculture, build an ecological farming base, and help villagers increase income and become prosperous. Under the care and guidance of relevant departments such as the County Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau, the County Environmental Protection Bureau, and Hebazi Town, the first phase of the base's 60 mu of loach farming was fully put into production, with sales reaching 1.8 million.

Helping the poor and lifting them out of poverty, guiding villagers to farm

At present, most of those left behind in rural areas are elderly people, who do not have the strength to farm, while farming loaches is easier, and the economic benefits are much higher than farming. Zhangjiachuan said that after the farming base is completed, the annual output of commercial loaches will reach 200000 jin, and the annual output of commercial frogs will reach 180000 jin, with an estimated annual output value of more than 8 million, which will significantly enhance the surrounding driving effect. The company actively absorbs local surplus labor. Since the project started construction in July 2015, it has solved employment for more than 20 local people. In 2015, a total of 3000 work days were used, and in 2016 the whole year is expected to use 10000 work days. Using the "company + farmers" model, it is expected to reach an annual output of 500000 jin of loaches and 300000 jin of frogs within 5 years.

"The farming base needs 60KW of power supply. Now the transformer load is relatively large, and there are many power outages. The base is only more than 100 m from the high-voltage access point. I hope the power department can run a dedicated line. In addition, the total investment of the farming base needs about 8 million. I hope there can be relevant project support for infrastructure construction and strengthened support in financial loans." Zhangjiachuan said these are currently the company's main problems.
