Shaoyang Millionaire Returns Home to Raise Cattle, Annual Net Income Exceeds 300,000 Yuan
"These cattle are all fed with organic feed and are in high demand on the market." On March 24, at the farm of Hunan Yun'an Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. in Leitang Village, Hexiangqiao Town, Longhui County, Yang Xisheng, chairman of the company, pointed to the plump and sturdy local cattle one by one, his joy overflowing.
Yang Xisheng, 52 years old this year, is a native of Leitang Village. In 1992, he worked in Qingyuan, Guangdong, and later set up his own factory, with an annual income of around 2 million yuan.
A few years ago, Yang Xisheng thought that with the country's policies being so favorable now and many impoverished people still in his hometown, he came up with the idea of returning home to start a business and help the people of his hometown get rich. He thought of the beef from his hometown, which is tender and delicious, so he took time to visit cattle farms in Shandong, Shanxi, Guangdong, Guangxi and other places to inspect and learn from their experience.
At the end of 2014, Yang Xisheng returned to his hometown and spent more than 1 million yuan to build a 1,500-square-meter cattle shed. He also purchased a crusher, a grass cutter and a mixer, and rented more than 1,500 mu of mountain land for grazing and growing grass. He bought more than 40 cattle locally, learning breeding techniques while feeding them, and also subscribed to a number of science and technology newspapers and magazines, and "recharged" himself through the internet.
Having passed the technical hurdle, the local cattle raised by Yang Xisheng have a very high survival rate, with more than 100 head currently in the barn. In addition, since the feed consists of grass, cornmeal, radish, sweet potato vines and the like, the beef quality is very good, and customers come from all directions to buy it. Over the past two years, his annual net income has exceeded 300,000 yuan.
