Developing ornamental fish farming to drive farmers to prosperity and boost rural incomes

Ornamental fish farming is one of the specialty industries of Yicang Village. At the Wangzhi Zhou Ping Goldfish Farm of Minbao Group 3, Yicang Village, Minzhong Town, the finished goldfish are growing well.

According to Liang Zhiwang, the person in charge of the farm, Wangzhi Farm settled in Yicang Village, Minzhong Town three years ago, with a farming area of 88 mu. It raises more than ten varieties in total, including Lionhead, Black Dragon, and Red and White. The farm divides the fish into ponds according to the size of the fry, and grades the goldfish into seven levels according to their size. At present, the finished fish are mainly sold to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other places.

Because goldfish are more adaptable to temperature than ordinary pond fish, the unusual cold weather some time ago had little impact on goldfish farming.
