Agricultural entrepreneurship star Liu Mengmeng gets rich fast by raising beef cattle
In the 186th Regiment, there is such a post-80s worker. He was not satisfied with relying only on farming to maintain his life. With a streak of tenacity, he grew his cattle-raising business from small to large and from weak to strong. Now he has gradually developed large-scale breeding and become a famous dual-innovation cattle man in the company. He is Liu Mengmeng, a 29-year-old worker in the 5th Company of the 186th Regiment.
Before 2012, Liu Mengmeng's family income relied only on farming the land allocated to him as a worker, and the annual income was only enough to cover living expenses. Seeing others getting rich by pursuing diversified income growth, the ambitious Liu Mengmeng was no longer willing to remain in that situation, and he resolved to develop animal husbandry to increase his income and become rich: "I had been farming all along. Farming brought in a bit less money, and later I wanted to do something else, because winter here is long and everyone is relatively free. What's more, at that time several households were already raising cattle, and they could all make money, so I looked into cattle raising."
Once he had the idea, Liu Mengmeng began conducting on-site investigations. From breed selection to management experience, he wrote everything down in his notebook one by one and kept it in mind. When the idea matured, in 2013, Liu Mengmeng decided to buy a batch of female cattle for breeding to start developing cattle raising, but the lack of startup funds to buy the cattle became a problem again. Later, by reporting it to the company and with the coordination of the company's leaders, he obtained a loan and successfully bought this batch of cattle.
In the process of raising cattle, Liu Mengmeng deeply realized that cattle raising must also rely on science and technology, must implement scientific feeding, and must implement standardized breeding. In order to learn scientific knowledge and master scientific breeding techniques, he actively participated in various breeding technology training classes held by the county and regiment, and bought a large number of scientific cattle-raising books, studying them carefully and humbly seeking advice.
After a period of breeding, he found that raising only female cattle for breeding was too slow to show results and the cycle was long, so Liu Mengmeng thought of walking on two legs: "At the beginning I bought 20 female cattle for breeding. Later I bought another batch of beef cattle. Beef cattle show results quickly, while female cattle for breeding, through self-breeding and self-raising, can further expand the breeding scale."
Thanks to his careful raising, by 2014 he began to see returns, and Liu Mengmeng became even more determined to make this business strong and big. Up to now, he has more than 60 beef cattle and also more than 60 female cattle for breeding. Although all the money earned in recent years has been put back into cattle raising, Liu Mengmeng's business has been moving toward regularity bit by bit. But Liu Mengmeng is not satisfied. Full of drive, he still has even greater goals: "In the future, I plan to replace all the cattle with poor breeds with good breed cattle, and then further expand the breeding scale." In addition, he also bought a forage baler, a high-horsepower locomotive, a seeder, and so on, embarking on a path to wealth through diversification.
