Family picking activities give visitors a real treat

In the photo, Cao Shifeng is observing the growth of cherries.
Cao Shifeng, 47 this year, is a plain farmer from Xiaojiatun Village, Jiaobei Subdistrict. In recent years, with the support of the Jiaozhou Jiaobei Sub-branch of the Rural Commercial Bank, he invested 1.5 million yuan to build 10 standard greenhouses, planted cherries, grapes and strawberries, and opened a family picking garden, giving visitors who come to pick a real treat and letting them taste fresh, pollution-free green fruit. The greenhouses he planted were rated as a "Youth Science Popularization Demonstration Base" by the Qingdao Association for Science and Technology, and were awarded the honorary title of "Youth Entrepreneurship Practice Base" by the Jiaobei Subdistrict.
On the morning of April 8, Cao Shifeng, busy working in the cherry greenhouse, happily chatted with the reporter: "Tourism picking has been running for three years, and it gets livelier every year. None of this would be possible without the care and support of the Rural Commercial Bank. This year's cherries had a bumper harvest, and the current market price is 100 yuan per jin; I planted five greenhouses of grapes, and this year is the peak period for grapes. Based on prices in previous years, each greenhouse brings in about 60,000 yuan; the peak picking season for the strawberries in four greenhouses has already passed, and each greenhouse has already earned 30,000 yuan." With his wallet gradually swelling, Cao Shifeng's joyful mood has always been written on his face. Talking about future development, Cao Shifeng is even more full of confidence. He has also contracted more than 60 mu of land and wants to spend all his accumulated funds where they count most, further expanding the scale, planting more fruit trees and plants such as peaches, pears, apples, cherries and grapes, opening up new tourism picking channels, and providing more citizens and visitors with a leisure garden where they can taste and pick fresh fruit.
