Cotton-producing counties rise to the challenge, take proactive action, and initial results are showing

Yuli County has consistently taken strengthening the cotton industry as its goal for building a strong county and has actively explored development of the entire cotton industry chain. Cotton purchasing and processing enterprises and cooperatives have taken the initiative to conduct research in the interior, connect with cotton textile enterprises, organize cotton production according to customer requirements, and carry out separate harvesting, separate ginning and separate stacking by variety to improve consistency and uniformity. Main practices: First, using cooperatives as a platform, a "cooperative + farm + ginning factory" model has been carried out, with unified varieties, unified agricultural inputs and unified technical services for intensive production, and unified distribution of cotton picking bags and cotton caps. For cotton with fiber length reaching 28.5mm or more, micronaire value reaching Grade A, strength reaching 28 Cn/tex, and "three foreign fibers" below 1 gram/ton, 1000 yuan per ton is added and purchasing is open-ended, achieving a win-win for farmers and enterprises. Second, contract cotton production follows the "five unifications" standardized production to achieve high quality and good prices for cotton. Contract cotton production promotes the machine-picked cotton model on 50,000 mu, implements the "enterprise + village + farmer household" model with unified varieties, unified planting, unified technology, unified services and unified purchasing, and promises that all cotton of the "double 30" grade with a lint percentage of 40 will be purchased under contract at a guaranteed floor price; for cotton whose per-unit yield reaches the expected output and whose "three foreign fibers" content is below 1 gram/ton, the seed cost is fully refunded, and the purchase price is appropriately raised.
