Of Muyuan Foods' operating revenue last year, 99.98% came from live pig breeding, and the remaining 0.02% came from pig manure. This pig manure created about 380,000 yuan in operating revenue for Muyuan Foods last year.

The treated pig manure has no odor at all and is an ideal raw material for making organic fertilizer. The purchase price of 1 cubic meter of pig manure is 20 yuan, 4 cubic meters of pig manure can produce 1 ton of finished organic fertilizer, and the selling price of the organic fertilizer is 800-1,400 yuan per ton.
Xu Qian, Assistant Manager of Organic Fertilizer at Muyuan Industrial Company: Our company is the only large-scale manufacturer in the country producing organic fertilizer from pig manure. At present, our products mainly include special fertilizer for fruit trees, special fertilizer for kiwifruit, special fertilizer for vegetables, small-package flower fertilizer, and mostly general-purpose fertilizer, mainly these types. In the current market, the proportion of pig manure processed into organic fertilizer is still not very high. The main reason is that many are small free-range farmers, and their pig manure is not convenient to collect, which may lead to a loss of resources.

In addition to pig manure being used as fertilizer, pig urine is also a very good fertilizer after treatment. The reporter saw that in the green wheat fields there were many regularly arranged small white round posts, which are the valves for transporting biogas slurry. When farmers need to irrigate the land, they can connect a hose and use it. This biogas slurry is provided to farmers free of charge, saving them a lot of money on irrigation and fertilization.
Zhang Hao, Reporter: After pig waste undergoes solid-liquid separation, the pig urine is fermented and transported here. This is a biogas slurry storage tank. Biogas slurry can replace chemical fertilizer, and it serves as both water and fertilizer, achieving both irrigation and fertilization at the same time. When nearby farmland needs fertilization, this biogas slurry is transported to the farmland through pipelines. According to their estimates, using biogas slurry for fertilization can save 200 yuan per mu on chemical fertilizer costs, and yields can also increase by 30% to 50%.
