    Ren Changshu began growing edible roses in 2012. At present, he has more than 110 mu and more than 1 million plants, with a petal yield of about 800 jin per mu.

    His edible roses include varieties introduced from Shandong and varieties introduced from Yunnan. Different varieties of edible roses have different uses and sales channels. For example, Shandong Pingyin roses can be used as rose tea, while Yunnan edible roses are an indispensable raw material for making flower cakes.

    “I mainly sell seedlings that are 3 years old and under. I do not sell those over 3 years old; I use them for picking flowers.” Ren Changshu said that half-year-old small seedlings are 20 yuan/plant, 3-year-old large seedlings are 200 yuan/plant, and fresh petals are 50 yuan/jin.
