In the rice fields, she does not fear mud on her skirt; her favorite time is when the scent of rice flowers drifts
Taking off her master's gown and putting on farmer's clothes, going from a big city to a small mountain village, "post-80s" girl Fang Yueping chose a path of hard struggle. As deputy secretary of the Party branch of Chitian Village, Chitian Town, Fengxin County, Yichun City, and Party branch secretary of the Chunxiao High-Quality Rice Planting Farmers' Professional Cooperative, she settled her home in the village, shouldering the hope of fellow villagers to escape poverty and become well-off, and the heavy responsibility of rural industrial development. She has successively won honorary titles such as "National Top Ten Most Beautiful Village Officials", "Ninth National Rural Youth Leader in Becoming Rich", and "Outstanding University Student Village Official of Jiangxi Province".

In 2008, after Fang Yueping graduated with a master's degree from East China University of Science and Technology, she was introduced by a Shanghai company as a high-tech talent. Not only did she get a high-paying position, but her Shanghai household registration was also resolved. Everything the then 28-year-old Fang Yueping obtained made many people envious. However, having grown up in a rural area of Zhejiang, she often thought of the mountains, rivers and people of the countryside, and was determined to use the knowledge she had learned to devote herself to rural construction. In 2011, she resolutely resigned and, through the village official examination, became a university student village official in Chitian Village, Chitian Town, Fengxin County. When she first arrived in Chitian, Fang Yueping made a move that surprised and even drew opposition from many people: she gave up her Shanghai household registration and transferred her household registration to Chitian. Fang Yueping explained it this way: a university student village official must enter the village and start as a villager.
After visiting villages and households to conduct research, Fang Yueping learned that most local farmers lacked confidence in agriculture, went out to work one after another, and there was even a phenomenon of small areas of abandoned land. After careful research and consulting experts, she decided to guide farmers to plant high-quality rice and lead farmers to "dig for gold" in the fields. In 2012, she convened some villagers to establish the Chunxiao High-Quality Rice Planting Farmers' Professional Cooperative. After nearly 5 years of development, the cooperative currently has 553 member households, mainly engaged in the planting, processing and sales of high-quality rice, with a planting scale of 6,128 mu. Last year, it achieved sales and service income of 11.81 million yuan, and each cooperative member household increased income by 3,238 yuan.
Fang Yueping not only took the lead in establishing a cooperative to venture into the market, but also brought e-commerce into the village. At the end of 2014, during a study trip outside, she discovered that many counties and cities were developing rural e-commerce. Fang Yueping keenly realized that Fengxin County is a major agricultural county with abundant products, and the potential for developing rural e-commerce is huge. Therefore, she and other university student village officials created nationwide the first new e-commerce model of "Internet + supply and marketing cooperative + university student village officials + cooperative + farmers".
At present, the local e-commerce venturesentrepreneurship projectsin which university student village officials participate number 11, and in just 3 months the operating revenue has reached 480,000 yuan, covering local rice, kiwifruit, chili sauce and many other special agricultural products. Fang Yueping said: "E-commerce entering the village has brought farmers more hope of becoming rich. I will do my modest part to continue serving my fellow villagers."
