Yesterday, reporters visited 2 designated live poultry retail trading points in Shanghai and found business at the stalls somewhat quiet. Around noon, the live poultry trading point at Yunlian Vegetable Market on Changli East Road had few customers. The proprietress said business had been average recently, "we only sell about 10 a day." The live poultry trading point at Baode Vegetable Market was set up separately in an area outside the market. The proprietress, surnamed Ding, likewise said business was somewhat quiet, "at best we sell at least 20-odd a day, now it's not even half that, maybe because it's just started and people don't know yet." In the first half of this year, whether vegetable prices or meat prices have risen to some extent, will live chicken prices rise? The proprietress said there had basically been no price increase, "here, two-yellow chicken is 13 yuan per jin, new grass chicken is 18 yuan, and a slightly better old hen is only 25 yuan."
