"This cucumber feels especially crisp when you eat it, with a sweet taste, like the flavor from childhood." This morning (May 5), a product press conference hosted by Gaoling farmer Xu Jianjun was held next to the cucumber planting greenhouse in Rencun, Tongyuan Town, Gaoling District.
Xu Jianjun introduced to the media reporters, vegetable dealers and others who came to attend the press conference the "goat milk cucumbers" with zero pesticide residue that he had spent more than 2 years growing and cultivating, and welcomed the general public of Xi'an to come and pick and taste them.
The reporter learned that Xu Jianjun raises 120 dairy goats in the park, but the milk produced by the dairy goats is never sold. Goat manure, goat urine and goat milk are fermented into high-quality organic fertilizer. And this organic fertilizer is the best fertilizer for the cucumbers at his base. At the same time, they also use the fresh goat milk of the day to spray a goat milk mist on the cucumber seedlings, giving every cucumber seedling a goat milk SPA.
Below the base, Xu Jianjun also built a 100 cubic meter biogas digester and a 200 cubic meter septic tank. The 8 greenhouses are filled with pipes. Once the valve is opened, biogas enters the greenhouses through the pipes, the pests and diseases in the greenhouses are eliminated, and part of the biogas is absorbed by the cucumber seedlings as a gaseous foliar fertilizer.
The test report from Beijing PONY Test Group shows that the potassium content of Xu Jianjun's "goat milk cucumbers" is as high as 191mg/100g, nearly 40% higher than ordinary cucumbers, and the calcium content is 33.9mg/100g, twice that of ordinary cucumbers. Moreover, the pesticide residue of the "goat milk cucumbers" is 0.
"The cultivation technology of goat milk cucumbers is freely shared with the public. If anyone wants to grow them, welcome to the base. I will teach you hand by hand without reservation." Xu Jianjun told the reporter that his wish is to use biogas and biogas slurry to achieve sustainable circular agriculture, grow healthy vegetables, be responsible to society, and hopefully drive farmers widely to grow healthy vegetables.
The reporter learned that Xu Jianjun had previously been engaged in steel trading. Although he was from a rural area, he had never farmed the land. After earning his first pot of gold in the city, he had the long-cherished wish to return to his hometown to do organic agriculture, so he went home and transferred 40 mu of land, invested 3 million yuan to build 8 modern steel-structure solar greenhouses, and became a farmer. He also joined with villagers in the village to establish a farmers' cooperative, driving cooperative members in the village to grow goat milk cucumbers together, which helped many people find re-employment.
