On the morning of April 19, in plot No. 3 of the Phase II Xuanmen reclamation area, farmers were planting edamame using single-cylinder seeders.

These 5 semi-automatic "Nongle NL-6D1" single-cylinder seeders cost only 350 yuan, quite cheap, but their work efficiency is very high: just pour the beans into the bean cylinder, press the handle hard, and the beans go two or three cm deep into the soil. Contractor Lao Ge said that this kind of seeder can sow 5 mu of edamame a day, 5 times as much as digging holes and dibbling by hand.

It is understood that this contiguous piece of land is more than 100 mu. Lao Ge had just harvested cauliflower last season, and then began planting edamame. In order to achieve high output and high efficiency from this land, this year he introduced the "Zao'an" edamame variety. This variety is early-mid maturing (about 65 days), tolerant to fertilizer and resistant to lodging, with a sweet and tender taste, and a fresh pod yield as high as about 800 kg.
