Dongcheng Subdistrict, Jieshou, Anhui: Wang Bingtang Develops Ecological Duck Farming to Lead Villagers onto the Road to Prosperity

Wang Bingtang of Fanglou Village, Dongcheng Subdistrict, Jieshou, set his sights on the market, built the Fanglou laying duck breeding base, carried out large-scale laying duck farming, and led the local people to prosperity, becoming a much-told story in the area.

Wang Bingtang, 47 this year, went into business after graduating from school and also worked in transport, building up some savings. In recent years, seeing the prospects and preferential policies for developing modern ecological agriculture in Jieshou City, he decided to raise laying ducks in Fanglou Village. Wang Bingtang began raising ducks under the trees in 2014. At present, he raises 12,000 ducks with an investment of 800,000 yuan. In the process of farming, he studied hard and delved into breeding techniques, and summarized and developed a scientific feed ratio method, using corn, bran, soybean meal and other ingredients to make duck feed. Wang Bingtang insists on scientific farming under the trees. The quality is excellent, all green and pollution-free, and the products are highly favored by consumers. Demand for his products exceeds supply, and the duck eggs are sold to surrounding counties and cities.

Wang Bingtang did not forget his fellow villagers after getting rich. To repay the surrounding people for their care and support for his farm, and to meet the needs of the surrounding people, he sells at a discount.

Wang Bingtang enriched himself by raising ducks, and also helped the registered poor households in Fanglou Village. Villager Liu Aiqin's family was poor, and the farm gave her priority in hiring to work at the breeding base. At the duck farm she earns sixty to seventy yuan a day, more than 2,000 yuan a month, and has now been lifted out of poverty. After more than a year of careful management, Wang Bingtang's laying duck breeding base has now reached scale, occupying 30 mu of forest land, with a building area of more than 2,000 sq m, and considerable returns. At the same time, it has provided employment here for 6 registered poor households in Fanglou Village, each earning nearly 2,000 yuan a month.
