Recently, the world's first museum themed on rice, the Longping Rice Museum, was unveiled in Changsha, Hunan.

It is reported that the entire museum was inspired by rice, and its exterior is composed of multiple structures shaped like "rice grains", arranged in the shape of blooming rice flowers. The museum has a building area of about 10000 sq m and contains 3 permanent exhibition halls on rice history and culture, rice science and technology, and Yuan Longping and hybrid rice, as well as 1 temporary exhibition hall. Through videos, photographs and physical objects, it will present a three-dimensional interpretation of China's long history of rice cultivation culture and farming civilization. At present, the museum's exhibition installation has entered its final stage and is planned to open to the public for free on May 19. Photo by Xinhua News Agency reporter Long Hongtao
