Migrant workers in Shandong owed wages can report nearby
At present, the total number of migrant workers in Shandong Province has reached 23.99 million, accounting for 8.76% of the national total. In 2015, Shandong Province recovered 401 million yuan in owed wages for 108,000 migrant workers through labor security supervision reporting and complaint windows, phone calls and letters, online acceptance and other channels; labor dispute arbitration institutions at all levels accepted 6,953 cases involving the rights of migrant workers, involving 9,432 people.
In order to protect the lawful rights and interests of migrant workers, 17 departments including the Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security jointly formulated the "Implementation Plan for Reforming the Labor Remuneration System in Shandong Province to Guarantee Equal Pay for Equal Work for Migrant Workers," which clarified the reform of the labor remuneration system; in response to the frequent occurrence of wage arrears for migrant workers in the construction industry, 5 departments including the Shandong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development jointly issued the "Opinions on Improving and Strengthening the Management of Wage Payment for Migrant Workers in the Construction Industry," further improving the wage payment management mechanism in the construction industry.
Next, Shandong Province will establish the Shandong Provincial Leading Group for Governing the Problem of Wage Arrears for Migrant Workers, build a corporate wage payment monitoring network, and formulate measures for labor security law-abiding and creditworthiness evaluation and public disclosure of major illegal acts in Shandong Province. At present, the provincial-level linked labor security supervision acceptance platform featuring "one-point reporting and complaint, province-wide linked acceptance" has been basically completed, allowing migrant workers to report and complain nearby and improving the efficiency of handling wage arrears cases.
