Hsinchu City God Temple Lantern Art Exhibition: Mayor Lin Chih-chien Prays for Sweet Dew from the Heavens

"Admire the lanterns, celebrate the Lantern Festival." In recent years, the Hsinchu City God Temple has actively promoted traditional folk arts, and the Lantern Festival is one of its major celebrations. Yesterday (the 19th), the "Great Fortune in the Year of the Pig Lantern Festival Celebration" lantern art exhibition officially opened. Mayor Lin Chih-chien, Hsinchu City God Temple Director-General Cheng Keng-ya and other distinguished guests presided over the lighting ceremony to kick off the lantern art exhibition. The exhibition will run until March 23. Mayor Lin Chih-chien praised the City God Temple for becoming an important center for carrying on religious culture under the leadership of Director-General Cheng Keng-ya. He invited everyone to come together during the Lantern Festival to experience this excellent traditional religious custom and to appreciate the deep history and culture of Hsinchu City.

This year is the Year of the "Pig." At the City God Temple site, there are many lanterns created with pigs as the theme, blending creative ingenuity with traditional folk customs. A total of 291 lanterns are participating in this year's exhibition, surpassing last year's scale. The exhibition runs until March 23. People from all over the country are welcome to visit Hsinchu, pay respects to the City God, admire the lanterns, taste the snacks at the temple entrance, and spend a wonderful Lantern Festival with their families, bringing the Lunar New Year to a perfect close.

Mayor Lin Chih-chien said that in addition to praying to the City God for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, flourishing municipal affairs, and the safety and happiness of citizens, he especially prayed for blessings that sweet dew would fall on Hsinchu City to avoid a water shortage crisis. He believes that the City God's divine power is illustrious and will help this city overcome its difficulties.
