The Qingyuan chickens carefully raised by poor farmers in the "Love Chicken Farm" will be put on pre-sale on the JD.com crowdfunding platform on June 25, 2016.
During the first phase of the Love Chicken Farm, citizens can buy Guangdong Tiannong Qingyuan chicken or newborn eggs through the JD.com e-commerce platform. For every chicken or box of eggs purchased by citizens, Guangdong Tiannong Company will provide an additional subsidy of 3 yuan for rural construction costs to the poverty alleviation village committee. For every reservation by citizens of poultry and livestock products produced by a poor farmer within three months, Tiannong Company will pay an additional wage subsidy to the poor household as a performance reward. In a true sense, eating Qingyuan chicken means targeted poverty alleviation by all citizens.
In the second phase of the Love Chicken Farm, in order to jointly build an "Agricultural Product E-commerce Assistance and Poverty Alleviation Base" and deepen the level of cooperation among the Qingyuan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Tiannong Company and JD Group, the project will take poultry and livestock breeding as its foundation and guide four-party interaction among e-commerce platforms, enterprises, cooperatives and poor households. Tiannong Company and JD Finance will cooperate to build the base breeding farm, organize poor households with suitable conditions in the area to establish professional cooperatives and enter the base to raise chickens. Tiannong Company will be responsible for the normal operation of the base, providing centralized management of poor breeding households, technical guidance, hands-on breeding and marketing promotion to teach poor households the concept of escaping poverty through breeding, and with a half-year term, encourage poor households in the base to build their own breeding farms, further achieving assistance and poverty alleviation. Base breeding products will be sold on major e-commerce platforms, and citizens can buy base agricultural products through online shopping platforms, contributing their strength to helping poor households escape poverty.
