How can you make money raising chickens when chicken diseases are frequent and tracheal blockage is rampant?

Last night I suddenly got a call from Brother Li, saying he had already sold his chickens two days earlier. At 47 days, they averaged 6.3 jin in weight. He is my full-course cooperation client. Especially during this period when chicken diseases are so frequent. From his voice on the phone I could tell how excited Brother Li was. When I heard the news I offered my congratulations, and I was very happy too, after all my efforts had not been wasted and I had gained the client's recognition.

Brother Li did the accounts for this batch of chickens for me: 47 days, large broiler, average weight 6.3 jin, feed conversion ratio 1.58, the company's veterinary medicine cost totaled 1.3. Adding it all up, the result was a profit of 5.8 per chicken. Many people find it unbelievable, why in this month when chicken diseases are rampant can you still raise chickens and earn so much?

Listen to me explain and you will understand.

First is the chicken house. I have been to Brother Li's chicken house many times, and there are no other chicken farmers around, with very few people walking about, plus routine disinfection, so the spread of pathogens is greatly reduced. Two days before the chicks arrived, heating began in advance. When the chicks arrive, the chicken house temperature should be such that the flock spreads out and you can see the occasional chick opening its beak. At this time the chicken house temperature was 32° and humidity was controlled at 65°C. The chick quality at that time was good. After giving water, 5% glucose + VC was used. Feeding followed right after. And Brother Li would observe that some weak chicks would not eat or drink, so they had to be guided to drink water and eat feed. If this is not done, the weak chicks that do not eat or drink will certainly die. Even if they do not die, weak chicks have low resistance to begin with, and once disease breaks out they will be the first to suffer, thereby affecting the whole flock.

On the second day, starter medication was used to suppress Salmonella and Mycoplasma brought by vertical transmission from the breeder chickens, as well as E. coli caused by contamination of hatching eggs for some reason, with E. coli infecting the hatching eggs through the eggshell pores. In addition, after chicks eat feed, their intestines come into contact with external miscellaneous bacteria, and before a balanced intestinal flora is established, bacterial enteritis easily forms, causing damage to the intestinal mucosa and affecting later digestion and absorption. Because recently proventriculitis and gizzard erosion in the chick stage exist from 1 day of age due to vertical transmission, a traditional Chinese medicine preparation to prevent proventriculitis and gizzard erosion should be used. In addition, attention must be paid to mold, as mold is also the most direct cause of proventriculitis and gizzard erosion. Appropriately adding a mold remover does no harm.

There is a saying that a person can be judged at 3 and seen through at 7, and the same goes for chickens. For chickens, judge them at 3 days and see their future at 7 days. At 3 days most of the yolk has been absorbed, and the yolk is rich in nutrients and composite antibodies, which can provide good prevention against early Newcastle disease, influenza, infectious bursal disease and other diseases. At 7 days it is a threshold for the development of all body systems and organs, and management in the early brooding period is especially important; 70% of the yolk is absorbed in the first three days. The yolk is like a baby's colostrum; the importance of the yolk to chicks is equivalent to the importance of colostrum to babies. How well the yolk is absorbed is closely related to the brooding temperature in the first three days.

7-14 days. At 7 days the first Newcastle disease vaccination is very important. Brother Li chose the Newcastle disease and infectious bronchitis combined vaccine. Because it was June, fowl pox vaccine was also given by wing-web stab once. Before vaccination, Venus was used to reduce stress, and after vaccination a round of respiratory medicine was given to prevent Mycoplasma. By 10 days Brother Li used another round of coccidiosis and intestinal medicine. At 14 days the infectious bursal disease vaccine was also given as scheduled.

After vaccination, respiratory symptoms appeared. Brother Li thought it was a normal post-vaccination reaction and would improve in a couple of days, so he did not take it seriously. Two days later it had not improved and dead chickens appeared. At this point Brother Li used only medication for large intestinal bacteria. After two days the respiratory symptoms became more and more serious, with dozens of deaths a day. This time Brother Li got anxious. He called me over to take a look, and by the day I arrived, deaths had reached 50 a day. After walking around the chicken house I found the flock breathing with open beaks, many stretching their necks and panting, and most of the dead were large chickens. I caught a few live chickens showing obvious symptoms and dissected them together with dead chickens and found: bronchial blockage. I told Brother Li the situation. Brother Li was very depressed and said: "I have raised chickens for so many years and this is the first time I have encountered this kind of blockage." Brother Li followed my suggestion and first increased the ventilation of the chicken house. Some people cannot help asking why not use medicine quickly? What does the flock need most at this time? Oxygen. This was done to exchange the air inside the chicken house. To ensure fresh air can be supplied to the flock. Then the studio's phlegm-resolving and cough-relieving "Zhihuqing" was used, and by the third day deaths were already controlled, and by the fourth day deaths were in the single digits. Later Brother Li called me and said: Brother, thank goodness I called you over at that time. My brother's chickens also have this disease. He has been using the leading brand's medicine and there is no improvement; now deaths are at 200 a day. I used your Zhihuqing and the effect is very good. Can you go take a look at my brother's chickens?

After 30 days the flock is prone to respiratory diseases, and this period is the stage when the medicine cost for the whole batch rises fastest, so during this period you must adhere to the medication principle of "fast, accurate, ruthless." Do not use medicine blindly; you must make a clear diagnosis and prescribe the right medicine for the disease, otherwise one wrong or mistaken treatment will not only miss the treatment window and increase medicine expenses, but will also affect the flock's feed intake and growth, increase flock mortality and cause huge losses. Brother Li's chickens had a tough round of respiratory treatment at 25 days, and after the tracheal blockage the chicken house environment improved greatly, so there was no need to worry about respiratory problems arising later.

In the later stage, if there is enteritis, then medicine to prevent intestinal problems should be used. At first Brother Li also wanted to start prevention in the middle and late stages, but I said to use this "Buhui" instead. It promotes growth, prevents enteritis, lowers the feed conversion ratio, replaces mid-to-late stage fattening products, and contains no antibiotics. Just like that, it was used from 25 days all the way until the chickens were sold at 47 days.

What must be noted in the later stage is the occurrence of influenza virus and Newcastle disease.

Raising chickens, raising chickens, seven parts rearing and three parts prevention. In chicken raising, management is primary and medication is supplementary. In medication, prevention is primary and treatment is supplementary. A good chicken-raising environment is better than thousands in medicine costs.
