A female college student village official starts a business and grows the "fruit of wealth"

In 2013, Kong Weiling came to Shuanglong Community, Shishugang Township, Feixi County, to serve as assistant to the community director. Local farmers mainly relied on working away from home. Kong Weiling wanted to change the status quo, so she signed up for the Ministry of Agriculture Sunshine Project rural youth agricultural entrepreneurship training class, learned seedling planting, went to seedling markets one by one to gather market information, sought teachers everywhere to learn planting techniques, and borrowed money from place to place to raise funds... Hard work pays off. In the end, this entrepreneurship park named "Hefei Weilin Landscaping Co., Ltd." was formally established, solving the employment problem for 30 surrounding farming households.

The wealth-making guide in roses

The Haizetian Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park in Yongqing County, Hebei Province, began introducing Bulgarian roses in the spring of 2014. So far, more than 200,000 rose branches have been propagated by cuttings. Technical personnel explained that Bulgarian roses are an excellent variety for extracting rose essential oil and producing rose hydrosol, and are also commonly used raw materials in pharmaceutical, tea beverage, beauty, and cosmetics production, with extremely high economic value. In the future, the park will guide farmers to plant on a large scale and create a new highlight for increasing farmers' income.

Circular agriculture builds an ecological road to wealth

In the orchard of Shi Miaofang, a major agricultural operator in Linyi Village, Linpu Town, Xiaoshan, there is a busy scene: the cherries are red, the red-fleshed kiwifruit introduced from South Korea has completed flower thinning, and the grapes arranged in clusters are quietly waiting to set fruit... The more than 800 mu of orchard near Linyi Village is only a small microcosm of Shi Miaofang's agricultural kingdom. Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, leisure sightseeing... Over more than ten years, he has grown from a simple pig farmer into a leader of local "circular agriculture" and has embarked on a road to wealth through ecological planting and breeding.

Switching careers to earthworm farming drives local people to wealth

The earthworm farming project, with a planned total investment of 800,000 yuan, is the largest earthworm farming project in Qian'an City. It will focus on developing into a circular industrial chain: cow dung is used to farm earthworms, earthworm eggs can continue to reproduce, part of the finished earthworms is sold directly to major domestic pharmaceutical factories, part undergoes deep processing into semi-finished earthworm products, and vermicompost is sold to flower merchants. The project began construction in April this year. At present, 300,000 yuan of the planned investment has been completed, 60 mu of land has been transferred from farmers, 1,500 cubic meters of cow dung have been purchased, and ridge building and manure spreading have been completed.

Li Xuehui is the project leader. The main reason for the original idea of farming earthworms was this: he used to do a cement building materials business, and because the situation was poor, he shut down and demolished all the factories. What project should he do? After investigating in Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and other places, he learned that earthworms can not only be used as fish bait, but can also improve soil fertility, and are even regarded by pharmaceutical factories as valuable pharmaceutical raw materials. Earthworms contain a relatively high amount of lumbrokinase, and lumbrokinase is called the "king of thrombolysis" by the medical community. It has remarkable effects in treating ischemic cerebrovascular disease, has large market demand, and has very broad prospects, so he decided to switch careers to this agricultural project.

Li Xuehui said: "Farming produces one batch of earthworms in 22-30 days. One meter of ridge produces 3-6 jin of earthworms. We have 10,000 meters of ridges, which can produce 30,000-60,000 jin of earthworms. Each jin of earthworms can sell for 5-10 yuan. There are 7 months in a year when earthworms can be farmed. Annual sales revenue of two to three million is no problem. After introducing 15 mu this year, we plan to breed first ourselves and then sell. Results can be seen after three months, and this year's profit is expected to exceed one million."

The "Shrimp King" cleverly follows the wealth-making guide

Caobu Village is adjacent to the Chu River and is a typical polder area. More than 90% of the farming households in the village are engaged in rice-field shrimp farming, with a per capita annual income of more than 20,000 yuan. Wang Rufeng is the leader. In 2006, he transferred and contracted 350 mu of rice fields and began farming crayfish. From the end of March to the end of June each year, he farms and sells crayfish, then plants one season of rice. After the rice is harvested, he releases shrimp seedlings, implementing self-breeding and self-raising and rice-shrimp continuous cropping. Wang Rufeng loves studying farming techniques. In the contracted fields, he also enclosed 100 mu of experimental fields for standardized and refined farming. Each mu of rice field harvested 218.5 kg of crayfish, more than 20 times that of ordinary farmers, making him a veritable "Shrimp King."

Today, Wang Rufeng's farm has become a Ministry of Agriculture aquatic healthy aquaculture demonstration farm, a provincial-level farmers' professional cooperative demonstration cooperative, and has obtained Ministry of Agriculture pollution-free agricultural product origin certification, among others, and has obtained 3 invention patents. The crayfish industry association he led in establishing has a farming area of 25,000 mu, demonstrating and driving more than 1,000 surrounding households to engage in rice-field crayfish farming. The annual crayfish output is 3,750 tons, high-quality rice is 12,500 tons, and the total output value is 130 million yuan. Association member households have an average annual net income of 100,000 yuan.
