A pig-farming enterprise in Neixiang County, Henan Province, processes pig manure into biogas slurry organic fertilizer, which is used to grow grain, vegetables, melons and fruit, aquatic products, and flowers, forging an ecological circular economy model that has led local farmers to build ecological breeding and organic agriculture bases.
Since last year, the enterprise has improved China's excellent “8424” watermelon variety. The “Guiyuan Tian” new-type watermelons it grows are full of water, high in sugar, and good in taste. An ordinary watermelon rind is 1 cm thick, while the rind of this watermelon is only 0.4 cm thick, so it can be peeled and eaten directly just like an orange. It is convenient and affordable, and very popular with visitors. (Xinhua Net)
