A thousand seedling greenhouses put to secondary use

To improve the utilization rate of land resources and increase the economic income of workers and residents, the 7,058 rice seedling greenhouses at Yaluhe Farm in the Heilongjiang Reclamation Area have all recently been planted with high-value cash crops such as adzuki beans, vegetables, western melons and muskmelons, turning the seedling greenhouses into a "treasure bowl" of extra income for workers and residents.

The farm's agriculture department carried out scientific planning for the 7,058 rice seedling greenhouses left idle after rice transplanting was completed, with agricultural technicians guiding growers to use the idle greenhouses to plant fast-yielding, low-cost cash crops such as vegetables, western melons and muskmelons. Planting and care were entirely done by hand, using farmyard manure and no pesticides, ensuring that the agricultural products are purely green and pollution-free. According to calculations by the agriculture department, each greenhouse can increase income for workers and residents by an average of more than 400 yuan, adding more than 3 million yuan to their income over a year.

Through the secondary use of rice seedling greenhouses, the problem of idle greenhouses has been solved, land use efficiency has been improved, and a new path has been opened up for workers and residents to increase income and achieve prosperity.
