Free-range eggs sell well online after being given ID cards
Nowadays, as people's living standards improve, green food is increasingly favored by everyone. But green food cannot be produced in large quantities due to limitations such as land and resources, and even when it is produced and sent to the market, it still has to face consumers' doubts about whether the product is truly "free-range" and truly "green." Given the lack of transparency in information, an impenetrable "barrier" has always existed between online stores and consumers.
How can the production process be made clearly visible to consumers? He Lei, a post-80s young man from Pingyu, is using "Internet Plus" to break down this barrier.
He Lei is from Litun Township, Pingyu County. After graduating from middle school, he went out to work, doing something novel - "Internet" sales. He Lei worked at a Taobao store. Thanks to his diligence, love of learning and quick thinking, he quickly accumulated rich practical experience in e-commerce operations. At the same time, He Lei also saw the huge potential of online sales of agricultural products. In 2012, he returned to his hometown with the already registered brand "Tianzhong Renjia" and began his entrepreneurial journey.
A few days ago, the reporter walked into the "Tianzhong Renjia" free-range chicken farm in Weilou Village, Litun Township, where He Lei and his family were busy attaching tags to the chicks. Holding up a small tag printed with a QR code, He Lei said: "This is the chick's ID card. I built a traceable information platform on my WeChat official account and registered an ID card for every chicken. Customers only need to scan the QR code with their mobile phones to learn about each chicken's 'past and present.'"
One table, one chair, one computer, and a desk full of books - He Lei's office is relatively simple. Compared with the office, the equipment at the farm looks much more "high-end": automated clean and ventilated chicken coops, 360-degree monitoring with no blind spots, insect-attracting lamps, and daily sampling and quarantine stations are all fully equipped. He Lei said: "What I sell is not just eggs, but 'credibility.' We work so hard only to eliminate customers' concerns about the identity of 'free-range eggs.'"
At present, He Lei's "Tianzhong Renjia" Taobao online store has gotten on track, with daily sales peaking at more than 30,000 yuan. At the same time, in Yicheng District, Runan County, as well as the county's Chenfan Market and Qiaonan Market, He Lei has also set up 8 brand direct-sales stores, and eggs are in short supply every day. "Production can't keep up, so I have no choice but to resort to 'hunger marketing'!" He Lei said with self-mockery.
