Selenium-rich grapes unsold, village officials visit to relieve worries

In midsummer, melons and fruits are fragrant. Recently, the more than 1,000 mu of pollution-free selenium-rich grapes grown in Ganwan Village, Mianhuapo Town, Naxi District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, have been in their sales period. Due to factors such as the market, information, and sales channels, a large amount of ripe fresh grapes went unsold, and if not sold in time, this would cause economic losses to the fruit growers.

After hearing about this during the "go to the grassroots, listen to the people's voices, solve problems" activity, several college-graduate village officials in Naxi District proactively extended a helping hand. Using weekends and overtime hours, they went into the vineyards and divided the work among themselves. Some helped pick and pack the selenium-rich grapes, while others collected information on the quantity, varieties, quality, and prices of the selenium-rich grapes. By taking promotional photos, opening WeChat and Weibo accounts, and setting up online stores and micro stores, they served as "image spokespersons" for Ganwan Village's selenium-rich grapes, precisely helping each fruit grower publish sales information. In just one week, they published more than 800 pieces of fruit sales information, helped fruit growers contact more than 100 customers, signed sales orders with 86 households, and recovered economic losses of more than 600,000 yuan.
