Recently, the reporter came to the bank of the Zhen River near Caocun Township in Xin'an County and saw more than 2,000 geese belonging to the farmer Jia Shuzhi playing in the water. These geese can bring her an income of 150,000 yuan a year.

In 2012, Jia Shuzhi and her husband planned to raise poultry. After investigation, they found that in Xin'an Countyraising geesewas rare, while their own home was right next to the Zhen River, with an obvious geographical advantage. They acted as soon as they decided. Soon, the couple bought their first batch of goslings from Shandong.

“When the goslings had just been brought back, we worked around the clock, day and night.” Jia Shuzhi said. They insisted on feeding them with natural feed and raising them in the Zhen River. After seven or eight months, the geese began to lay eggs one after another, and the first batch of geese earned them 50,000 yuan.

This year is the couple'sfifth year of raising geese, and they have their own set of “geese-raising methods.” “Geese are treasures from head to toe. Goose eggs, goslings and goose meat can all sell for a good price.” Jia Shuzhi said. Their farm is growing larger and larger, and now they mainly sell goslings and goose eggs.

After nearby villagers saw that Jia Shuzhi's family had become rich by raising geese, they all learned from them one after another. Jia Shuzhi explained to the villagers how to brood chicks and prevent disease, helping them learn scientific methods of raising geese and leading the villagers onto the road to prosperity.
